Ways
to Support Gallaudet Cash Gifts the most simple and frequently used
method of giving is by personal check made payable to Gallaudet University.
Other cash gifts are received in currency, money orders, bank drafts,
or credit cards. You can also make a gift
online with your Visa or MasterCard credit card. Corporate Matching Gifts many private companies
will match charitable gifts their employees and retired employees
make to Gallaudet. To find out if your company matches gifts, ask
your Human Resources Department. Include a matching gift form with
your gift to Gallaudet to double or triple your gift amount! Honor and Memorial Gifts a gift in honor or in memory
of a relative or friend is among the most thoughtful donations, as
well as an appropriate way to recognize someone’s life and accomplishments,
such as a birthday, anniversary, wedding, etc. Please include the
name and address of the individual(s) to whom acknowledgement(s) should
be sent. Where Your Gift Goes? Gifts to the Fund for Gallaudet support all areas of greatest need
identified by the University; however, if you wish to direct your
gift exclusively to a scholarship fund, a program or training, please
indicate your preference when you send in your gift. In this fiscal year, the University has specific
funding priorities to which you may want to designate your gift.
Below are just a few of these needs: Scholarships: This important support allows Gallaudet
to provide financial assistance with recruiting students, graduate
fellowships, and international student scholarships. Gallaudet also
has about 200 endowed scholarship funds where specific kinds of
students obtain needed support. Many of them are named in honor
of or in memory of alumni leaders. Gallaudet Leadership Institute: A new and exciting
program where students can gain skills in educational, community,
advocacy, corporate, and political leadership. Digitization of Archival Collections: The archives
aims to convert many collections into digital format, not only to
preserve them but also to make them accessible to people worldwide
through the Internet. Honors Program: The enhancement of our Honors
Program allows Gallaudet to attract greater numbers of highly qualified
students. Online Courses: Enhancement and development of
Gallaudet's ability to provide a greater number of courses online
to a variety of different constituencies. Shared Reading Project at the Clerc Center: A
project which focuses on teaching hearing parents how to read to
their young deaf children. Unrestricted Support: The Fund for Gallaudet raises
unrestricted dollars, ensuring the vital flexibility necessary for
Gallaudet to respond to unique opportunities and establish cutting-edge
programs. These are critical dollars to Gallaudet; we depend on
them, and these dollars provide President Jordan with the strength
he and his team need to keep Gallaudet ascending. |
